Of course community and schools are very important to us. Also, close to area attractions would be a plus being that I wouldn't know a soul after moving. After doing some blind reaserch I have been drawn to the town of Tega Cay and also the neighborhood of Baxter Village in Ft. Mill. Can anyone give me any thoughts on these areas. Also, any information on Rock Hill. I would be greatful for any information you are willing to give. This is a very scary move for me and I want to make sure we end up in a very nice/friendly place. We will be moving from Portland OR. Our price range is $300K-$425K
Thank you!
I lived in Rock Hill for 16 years before moving to "The Lake at Liberty Point" and my kids now go to Clover and I practice in Fort Mill across from Baxter. I wish I would have made this move before middle school, as I can't say enough about Clover School District - kids are happy and excelling and I love where I live on the lake. I also have been a high school referree for 15 years and spoken at career days at every local high school so have had lots of opportunities to interact with students and staff, and here is how I would rank (academics, athletics, administration) local high schools overall:
1) Clover
2) Fort Mill / Nations Ford
3) Rock Hill / Northwestern
4) South Pointe (Rock Hill)
5) York Comprehensive
6) Charlotte (private schools)
7) Charlotte (public schools)
And as far as housing there are several foreclosures and distressed properties in the neighborhood that have now fallen into your price range.

If anyone is interested, my husband and I are selling our home. It is only a 5 minute drive to the new Freightliner location. It is a beautiful home, with 2.7 acres, lots of privacy, built in 2006. If you are interested, the home is at 2459 Doctor Nichols Rd and the home is listed with Mary Beth Shealy from Allen Tate. MLS #738780 Just thought that I would put it out there!

Sorry to briefly hijack, but Doc C, you're a referee? What all does that take to get into? Feel free to DM me.
