You are correct. I've been here for a little over a year and never new it was there! How pathetic is that? LOL!
One day, I took the time to drive back there to see what is actually there, and I was surprised.
The entire Discount Tire in front of that plaza is such a blah to this area. Although I respect a business for coming into the area (after all, we do need their tax dollars to spare the home owners), I am very disappointed in the lack of strategic planning among developers and City officials when it comes to commercial industry and their land placement. We need restaurants, Trader Joes, or a Chipotle in this area so the people (its targeted demographic) do not have to give our money to Charlotte!
It seems if anything is built, it goes to Charlotte or Rock Hill, and I'm tired of it. I'd much rather support our own town --- which is growing by leaps and bounds.
Coming from out of state --- if I had known back then what I know now --- I would have chosen another area.
That Donatos wasn't the only one to close in the area. As far as the discount tire blocking them Donatos and everyone else knew that something would be built in front of them, it was part of the development plan. While they were blocked from the road more businesses in that complex is actually better for business. The more stores there are the more traffic there is in the complex.
