I am a newcomer to Rock Hill/Ft Mill area and I am in desparate need of a really good tailor. I recently purchased a beautiful new suit and I need to have some minor but tricky alterations done on it (need the shoulders taken in a bit and a trumpet skirt taken up from the top). I am perfectly willing to pay well for the services, but I need someone who really knows how to alter well. Can anyone advise me? Thanks, Kitt
Kitt, a well-dressed gal once recommended Kim's Alterations to me for some tailoring, but I have yet to try her out myself. You might stop by and see what you think. She's in the Crossroads Plaza at the corner of Gold Hill Road and Hwy. 160 in the Tega Cay area (n. of Fort Mill). Her shop is on the side that directly faces 160. Phone 803-547-2455. Good luck.
My parent's own an alteration shop , but it is in Greenville, SC. They have both worked with clothing their entire lives. My father is a tailor by trade, had a college degree. He can custom make suits. Anyway, if you are interesed in driving to greenville for great service, you can send a PM and I can give you more information.
Thanks, Liz

Just wanted to add...that we recently used Kim's Alterations and were very pleased!
LTC, thanks for the insight re Kim's. Bibit, I'm not sure what all they do. I have yet to get over there and need to soon. The amount of clothes in my closet that need something altered before wearing is getting outta hand. P.S., it was great meeting you all last week.
To ARG and LTC - have been looking for AGES for someone to do this for my suit and take it down. Do they alter men's suits as well?
Just a follow up for ya bibit...I was at Kim's Alteration today and asked if they did alterations on men's suits?....her response....Oh Yes!! we do everything!!!
Thanks love and ARG. Told hubby about it and he said...I've grown into my suits and don't need them (tailors) now!
