Thanks to everone posting on this thread. I am really enjoying reading all the post. Comming from PA I have always had to vote by party. I like this system but wish both parties voting were on the same day, actually I wish every state had primaries on the same day. I don't like the spin the media gives the Iowa and NH winners.

Actually this reminds me a few years ago my dad put a Spratt for Congress sign in his front yard. A car repeatedly drove up into his yard (it wasn't exactly right by the road) to knock it down. After this happened he got one of the huge signs with 4x4 wooden posts and stuck in further into his yard closer to the house but still where you could clearly see it. Wouldn't you know that someone (and more than once) still kept driving into the yard and knocked it down. You could see the tire tracks. Very sad.

Sure, he has lots of supporters around here. Not all libertarians are college students or anarchists.

Richland County and the city of Columbia are both substantially (60%+) Democratic, but most of the signs are still from Republican candidates. I think the roadside signs should be outlawed except in a person's yard. They are all over the place in public rights of way.
By the way, South Carolina isn't quite as heavily Republican as people think. I'm sure if the northwest 1/2 of the state were given away to another state, South Carolina would be a fairly reliable blue state.

The Repulican Primary was Jan 19, the Democratic is Jan 24. It is extremely conservative down here in the Bible Belt.

That's a pretty broad generalization.
