You might want to check out apartments in the town of Lake Wylie (very easy airport access). The two apartment complexes in the area are - The Village at Lake Wylie - and - Hamilton Bay Apartments.

There appears to be another apartment complex in the works in Fort Mill, SC....it will be located right off of Gold Hill Rd (Exit 88) and the I77. I believe the sign read Bromley (?) Apartments.

I will relocating to the Fort Mill area in August and am looking to rent for a year until purchasing a home. I have made one visit to the schools and we would like our daughter to attend Nation Ford opposed to Fort Mill High. However, both schools to have a wonderful reputation! Is anyone familiar with rental opportunities in Fort Mill that are within the Nation Ford boundaries? I've noticed Regent Park has condo rentals but are there any apartments in that area also? I'm open to both.
Any suggestions would be appreciated!

I lived in Palmetto place for a bit and I loved it! Very nice, although - like most people on this thread - I only lived there short term during construction of a new house. I didn't have much problem with the place, but apparently others have. Anybody care to elaborate about Palmetto Place?

Hey there Kathy
First off...not sure if you have this but it's a link for the boundaries for Fort Mill and Nation Ford High School:
http://www.fort-mill.k12.sc.us/downloads/ADA44AAB37A649C4908489B5D9BA4EA8/High%20School%20Attendance%20Areas.pdf (broken link)
Fort Mill does not have a whopping amount of apartment complexes around, and after doing some checking the only apartment complex that I am aware of that falls within the NFHS boundary line is....one:
Lake View Apartments Fort Mill, SC - Apartments for Rent in Fort Mill South Carolina
There is an apartment complex (Bromley) that is currently being built off Gold Hill Rd (just off the 77)...they have just recently cleared the land for it, yet once it is completed any children in the complex would attend FMHS.
If you are set on renting in the NFHS area I would suggest you check out the following websites (for possibly home/condo rentals):
realtor.com (under rentals), craigslistcharlotte.com (rentals/Fort Mill), fortmilltimes.com, heraldonline.com, rent.com
It also can get a little confusing if you are not familiar with the area...as some of the places will indicate their location as Fort Mill, when in fact they are located in Indian Land, SC.
Best of luck to you!

Rental Policies
Hi,
My family and I are trying to move to the Fort Mill area, we went to Millcrest apartments but were told that at least one person had to be employed in SC in order to rent an apartment. My husband planned on staying and working in NJ while myself and the kids get settled while I find a job. Contributing to the household. Then he will come in a month or so when he found employment in SC or Charlotte. We were told this was policy. Do anyone know where I can find information on what the rental policy in SC is? Do anyone know if this would include house rentals? We would like to be in Fort mill before the school year starts. Thank you for any info you may have.

mva347,
I don't know of that being a SC rental policy, perhaps it is a policy of the managing company. It really may just depend on individual circumstance but if you have a letter of acceptance from an employer that may be enough to rent in Fort Mill. Also, you may want to offer to pay a month or so rent in advance while you look for work so the rent is paid and the managing company does not worry that you may "stiff" them. It is worth a shot. Good Luck.

My husband and I both worked in Charlotte and were able to rent in Rock Hill so I think that must just be a Management policy. Pretty ridiculous policy if you ask me given there are so many couples who both work in Charlotte. I would keep looking. Good luck and welcome to the area!
