Hello,

I apologize in advance if I am posting this in the wrong place (sorry moderators). But I am starting from absolute scratch...

I am seeking recommendations for a a really really nice town to live in in South Carolina that is within an easy driving (for work) distance to Matthews/ Mint Hill, NC?

I would be seeking an apartment or house to rent, while we search the area before buying. We are definitely country mice rather than city mice, so rural/semi rural would be best.

I know I couldn't possibly be more vague, but I have to start somewhere. Thanks in advance. :-)

You may want to look at Lancaster or York Counties. Indian Land in SC and Fort Mill in York County. Do you need schools too?

Thanks Southerngirl! Schools aren't really an issue for us, since we don't have kids. We are what they call DINKS (Double Income No Kids). :-)

I suggest Lancaster county in the Buford community. It is an easy drive to Monroe/Matthews/Mint Hill from this part of the county. Not much traffic and this is still mostly country.

I don't know about any rentals in that area though.

I love Fort Mill, SC . It is It is growing fast, but there are still places that have large lots of land. It is about 25 minute on route 485 from here to Matthews. Indian Land is closer. Moderator cut: tos violation
