If it is a good, authentic Thai restaurant I would go there often if it were on my side of town. There is not Thai here yet - we need to go to Rock Hill for it now. I do not count the Chinese and Red Bowl restaurants as Thai, those are a joke when it comes to that cuisine.
I have commented on this site often on how this is something we need in the area.
As rdub1968 stated above, if the Thai restaurant were good, I think it would go over well. My husband and I used to go to a wonderful Thai restaurant on a weekly basis when we lived in Atlanta. I'm not familiar with Tasty Thai. Is it a franchise restaurant?
I, personally, would be more likely to frequent a locally owned Thai restaurant in Fort Mill than a chain.
I think GOOD food will succeed here. Thai, Chinese, Inidian - whatever. There aren't a lot of good, family friendly places in the area.
I noticed you asked in another thread about the new shopping center on Springfield Parkway, there is a Asian fusion/Sushi type restaurant going in there. Might not be a great spot for a Thai place. There would be plenty of other great locations though.
There is a great Thai restaurant in Tower Place plaza in Pineville. Thai House and there's also a good Indian place, Bombay Grill is right next door. I've heard there's another really good Thai restaurant in the Blakeney neighborhood; Rea Road & Ardrey Kell.
