Default In Town for 3 Days - Anything that "must" be seen/done?

I'm visiting the Charlotte Area for three days this upcoming weekend and will be in town from Friday night through Monday afternoon. I have numerous appointments to visit rental complexes Saturday and Sunday afternoon and was just wondering if there was anything someone who has never been to the area should definitely see or do while in town for a short amount of time.

After reading other post, I know everyone always wants to know more about my particular interest and things along those lines so I'll try to give an idea, but really I'm open minded and am willing to try anything rather than just sit in my hotel room so any suggestion is welcomed and appreciated.

Looking for a couple of places for dinner - don't have to be fancy but just a good meal, I'm really looking to try a good BBQ place or something that might be classified as a traditionally Southern meal.

Also would like reocmmendations on nightlife, things I would like to see might be along the lines of a jazz/music bar or coffeeshop with a live band or even a place you might recommend just because it has beautiful night views of Charlotte or the outdoors. again I'm really open minded, any suggestions is appreciated. Thanks!

There is a really good jazz place just outside of Fort Mill in Charlotte called the Jazz Cafe. Charlotte will be crowded this week becaus eof the CIAA tournament, but it is still worthwhile to get on the light rail from 485 and S. Blvd (again not far from Fort Mill) and take it into the South End and uptown. I'll let other people recommend bbq because it's one food I don't care for. But for a good homecooked meal try Towne Tavern on Hwy 160.

Default Good BBQ in Charlotte?

For BBQ, there is a restaurant called Carolina Country BBQ on Tyvola Rd. between I-77 and South Blvd.

Has anyone eaten there lately? It used to be good.

They have been in business a long time, that says something.

Pick a "Creative Loafing". They should have one at your motel. There's plenty of advice on what do there in there.
