Way to go, Winthrop Eagles! Big South champs for the fourth year in a row and the eighth time in the last 10 years! Best of luck in the upcoming NCAA tournament.
Yes - congrats to Winthrop basketball. 4 years in a row is quite an accomplishment.
Also, if you have a children that like baseball, I recommend checking out a Winthrop baseball game as well. $5 for adults and $3 for seniors and students. It's a great stadium and you can pretty much choose where you want to sit. They're off to a rough start this season, but they've played a brutal schedule (just finished a weekend series with the University of Southern California).
Winthrop athletics are very underrated. They have top quality teams, but they don't seem very well known outside the area. I'd love to see them start up a football program.
I would also like to add my Conrats to Winthop!! ~ Go Eagles!
.....and wanted to mention as well...that if there are any of you parents out there that are looking for a really good sports program for the kids during the summer months....Winthrop has some great ones!
