Not to be nitpicky, but it wasn't that the food was undercooked. It wasn't stored and/or handled correctly. Big difference in how they need to approach things to prevent them in years to come. You can cook food thoroughly but if left out bacteria grows.
I sure hope they continue to do the BBQ in the future, just with better care.
