Water hardness in Tega Cay/Fort Mill
I was wondering what the water hardness level is for Tega Cay/Fort Mill... Do people struggle with hard water deposits on their shower door?

I keep a squeege in my shower and wipe the door after each use. No problems over the last 1 1/2...

Haven't really noticed so I guess it's not a problem...

I haven't noticed it being hard. I do wipe off the shower doors after each use which cuts down on the cleaning.

It is better than some places but worse than others. I can tell by how often I need to clean my humidifier and it's every 2-3 weeks here.

We are relocating to Tega Cay from Houston this summer, and the water in Houston is very hard. This affects not only the bathroom, but the laundry as well. No matter how many rinse cycles my towels go through, the detergent never gets completely rinsed out. Now my in-laws live in Raleigh (Cary to be exact) and they have very soft water coming through their tap. Their towels come out of the dryer as soft as the day they were purchased. I was hoping that once we moved I wouldn't have to deal with hard water anymore...

You'll be fine with that and water is on the expensive side around here, especially if you are outside of town limits which most of Fort Mill and Tega Cay are, so you aren't going to want to use any more water than you really need.

adding baking soda to your rinse water will help soften water ( at least that's what my grandma used to say)

The water in tega cay and fort mill is very soft by hardness standards, around 30 Parts per million of Calcium/Magnesium. Rock Hill actually adds some chemicals to the water supply to make it harder to prevent pipe corrosion. But, well water and other water supplies could be very different depending on the source. But, as a rule, all water pulled from Lake Wylie is very soft.
