I was driving from the Wal-Mart into Fort Mill and noticed on the right hand side past that daycare and bank they were building what looks to be a grocery store. No way is it a Publix. Any ideas?

I assume this is between Dave Gibson Boulevard and Len Patterson Road. It would be bad for going home traffic traveling northwest on South Carolina Highway 160. This can be remedied with Len Patterson Road being realigned to intersect with South Carolina Highway 160 and Brayden Parkway and the intersection receiving traffic signals.

I have not heard plans of Publix opening a store along South Carolina Highway 160. It could be possible for Publix to enter the trade area with an additional store.

If Publix is to open a store on South Carolina Highway 160, the store should be east of Interstate 77.

I guess it is nice to get one here. I would have preferred a Trader Joe's personally...but progress is progress!

I doubt a Trader Joe's would come to li'l ol' Fort Mill when there's three in the Charlotte metro area (Piper Glen, Rea Road and Mallard Creek).

I don't see why not....there are other Earthfare locations as well (South Park, Rock Hill, Ballantyne, etc.). So, if that logic stands, I'm hoping Trader Joe's isn't too far behind. I usually go to the one on Rea road unless I just happen to be in one of the other areas, which is rare. It is still a good little drive to go out there, so I guess one can still hope for a TJ's location here!
