Hello everyone,
I have been lurking around the boards for several months. Moving to Fort Mill end of September from the Kansas City area (Shawnee, KS in case there are any of you from the same area that care to send me a message) and laying out my budget for expenses. What can I expect to pay for an hi speed internet/basic cable/basic phone service?? Thanks in advance for your assistance! |

Go to Comporium.com as they service all of Fort Mill within York County. However, Indian Land in Lancaster County has a Fort Mill address, so if you are there, TW Cable would be who to contact.

Yep...and they do offer business service but not residential service in York County. If you are in Indian Land, contact TW and make sure you let them know your zip code is 29707 and you are in Lancaster County.

So what's the scoop with Comporium, why do you hate them ... does anyone have alternative in Tega Cay ... how about their security systems, does anyone use them to monitor etc.
Time Warner is not much better, well, I don't know the comparison actually, but I dislike TW very much. I think they're probably all the same, use their monopoly to their advantage. : ( |

I don't have cable believe it or not...trying to pay off some of the spouse's medical bills now. Got one of those converter boxes and get about 20 channels crystal clear. |

I live in Indian Land and use Comporium but I do have next door neighbors that have TW... they started offering service out here in late 2007. Before moving here, I lived right across the border in Pineville and had TW.
For my household, Comporium is more expensive (~$140/month for basic phone, internet, digital cable) and they have ridiculus hook-up fees, BUT I haven't had near the service issues that I had with TW. At least once a year I would have some issue with TW cable and/or internet and would spend literally hours on hold before I could talk to a human... I think my shortest wait time was like 50 minutes and my longest was like 1 hour 40 minutes. And then it would usually be 3 to 5 days before someone would come out and they'd give you a 4 hour service window. I haven't had a service issue with Comporium so I can't speak on their repair service but I will say that I've never had to wait long at all to speak to a human when I've called them for the initial hook-up or when we upgraded to digital cable. If I didn't need the land phone line for our security system, I definitely would drop the Comporium land line service... it's $37/month for basic service! For security we've used CPI for years both in NC and SC and I've been happy with their products and service. |
