Please feel free to conatct me and lets see if we can get some of this behind you. Thanks and Happy New year.

Russell, if you will look to the left on the blue bar at the top of your screen, you will see the heading "My Settings." If you will click on that, it will take you to a screen where you can send a personal message directly to any member of this board (I think it says "Send a New Message" on the right side about midway down). Gnomie may be more comfortable talking to you privately about her issues. Hope this helps! God bless, and Happy New Year!

Russell...
Interesting I found this web site again after so long and found this thread...
Who is the owner of KLR if you are an employee?
How was Daryl out of a job and working next door because Superior was out of business if Superior was still in operation while he was taking his boxes out of his office and setting up next door ?
Moral obligation ? More like legal obligations that no one can collect on since you are out of business and have very little if any money? Like a $3,000 legal bill I had to have the lien removed (which took 3 months) from my house because you did not pay New Era and I could not close on my house that you had signed off as having no mechanic's liens. How about a foundation that has a 3/4 crack across the middle of the entire home from one side to another and about 3 more foundation cracks in other directions 2/8in wide in other sections. How about a main beam in the stick built section of the house you built at the same time under the name of KLR Custom homes that is starting to fall into the living room ? How about the roof repairs that were never finished, the screens that were never delivered ? The windows that do not lock and close properly because the frames are not square and true ? How about the countless sections of the house that are missing insulation which can not be accessed any longer due to the flooring and carpet which feel as cold as a walk in freezer ? How about the countless contractors that refuse to come and do repairs to the home on the work they did because you never paid them, or even risking having a contractor come and starting that 1 year clock again where they could come after us with another lien for lack of payment. How about the punch down list that never had one thing completed ?
I think I have said enough...I am sure you know who I am. You want to do good ? Call me, you know where to find me. BUT you know the truth, KLR/Superior what's the difference ? What does KLR stand for by the way?? There are enough of us out here that have been taken advantage of by you and your "family". If you really expect to do any business in the area you are going to have to come clean, fix your mistakes and do good before anyone in the region can let this die. You have just hurt too many good people to be able to crawl out of this one without doing something major.
Every other post that I have seen here brings back memories since we saw the same thing. I am sure some of the things I also listed are the same with many if not all the others including the lack of a site supervisor, better known as Curtis AKA Jeff your cousin.

What Does KLR Stand For?
Kristen(Daughter)
Lisa(Wife)
Russell(Son)
Interesting that the names of his family make up the letters of the company name. But he has no ownership. Someone just named it after his family?
Try not to get things fixed by him. He will only bend you over again. You cant turn on Honesty with the flip of a switch!

What may not be a waste if enough of us that have been burned by them get together and custom order silk screens for our cars/vans/suv windows warning the world as a rolling billboard about KLR A.K.A Inferior Custom Homes. I was a graphic artist long ago, I can whip something up in PhotoShop in a bit ready for press if anyone has a contact with a local sign company that can do them cheap.
The very least all of us that have been burned by KLR/Superior should do our best to tell the world preventing him from stealing from other innocent people! With the state of the economy/building industry I think he will have no other choice than to leave the business or at least the state. There are enough of us out here and I think it's about payback time.

If you want a modular home then I would recomend Cline Builders. They carry the CBS home out of Salisbury and it is second to none. Cline also does a good job with getting the house set and finishing it. They have an office in Rock Hill and the guys there have been in the business for over 10 years each. They really know what they are doing. Good luck.

I would like to introduce myself and hopefully shed a little light on the situation. My name is Shawn Burton and I will be a consultant at the former Superior Homes center. David Cline successfully purchased the former Superior Homes center. David & I have a combined 20+ years of experience in the modular home business. We are of high character and care a about the home buyer. I know absolutely nothing about the problems that happened at Superior Homes. It seems that they sold alot of homes, and when you get too many homes in the field, it can be very hard, if not impossible to catch up. We are going to focus on selling quality homes and a small quantity of homes. Modular homes are built as good, if not better than traditional stick built homes, due to the fact that they are built in a climate controlled environment, and NOT exposed to the elements, as a traditional stick frame house is. We are going to build homes from 1100 sq ft- 4000+ square, so whatever your needs are, even if you have your own plans, please give us the oppurtunity to sit down and talk to you. We can show you models on any of our other 3 model centers, and give you an expert opinion, so you can make an informed decision (Even if it's not buying from us). We challenge any builder to match quality at the same price per square foot as we currently build. You may call me anytime to schedule an appointment, 704-300-0573(Shawn)or email me at delanceproperties@yahoo.com. I think you will be pleasantly suprised at our "No Hassle, No Pressure" approach to homebuying. Thanks for reading, and I hope you found this post informative.

Since you purchased Superior Custom Homes does that mean you will be supporting the many owners that were short changed and lied to by Russell and his crew ? There have been a lot of people that were flat out lied to and left hanging over the past several years with many things that are far from cosmetic minor cost issues, in addition to other problems.

I'm not sure as to whether the factory will appoint us to fix problems of the previous owner(s) or not, but we will certainly do whatever we can. We didn't make this acquisition to buy into the previous owner's problems, but yet to make this a great place to do business. We have 3 model home centers now, with little to no complaints, and that's saying something, in the home business, as the old adage goes "You can't please everyone". I'm truly sorry for anyone that was lied to, our left hanging, but rest assured, we are bringing 100% new ownership and a 100% customer satisfaction goal to Rock Hill. Thanks for reading, and please contact me, if I can be of assistance. Shawn

Well good luck then...like it or not you did buy into the problems if you are going to be doing business from the same location. The mantra of "Superior" custom homes will always be there for many not to mention the association by Daryl next door and Rusell next door to him, all within rock and shouting distance.
The economy and housing market is weak enough, having to follow in their legacy (and I am sorry but the legacy of all builders in general) is going to be quite difficult.
