Default Tega Cay

Hello, we currently live in South Florida and will be relocating to the Carolinas in July. My husband is in sales and has accounts around the Charlotte area, but we do not have to live in a particular place. I grew up in Boone, NC and he grew up in Greenville, SC so we each had our preferred states to live in This past weekend we visited the area and took a look at most of the surrounding towns and stumbled across Tega Cay. It was magical! We are both totally in love with the area and can not see ourselves (and two small children) living anywhere else! What an incredible town you have! With this being said, we are looking for rental housing(for the first year), preschools, doctors, great local restaurants, and any tips from locals. If you live in the area please share!
Thanks and can't wait to join you in a few months!

So I think I have answers for most of my questions by reading the other threads. I do however have a couple more. Is rush hour traffic worse going in to Charlotte or to Rock Hill? Also, what large companies are headquartered in Fort Mill/Rock Hill?

Rush hour traffic is definitely worse going toward Charlotte, but it's not that bad. My commute from Tega Cay to uptown Charlotte is much quicker than the commute I suffered from South Charlotte. I don't know much about what's headquartered in Fort Mill other than Muzak. I know there are several satellite offices (Citi, Black and Decker, Freightliner) but not many large company headquarters that I know of.

Good luck with your move - you'll love it here!

Nuclear engineering firm URS is moving their DC based team to Ft. Mill, and I understand there are to be many support roles to be filled. Good time to get on board, if your moving, apply now and let your famil catch up if you secure a job. Good luck.
