Default Land Survey

I am having a surveyor come out to stake my property...This was done prior to myself/dh purchasing the home (newly built) That said....most of our stakes were either knocked over and thrown away...Or, just taken and tossed for some reason...We have about 6 property's that touch ours...So, we figured since so many are putting fences/landscaping in (including ourselves...10 year plan for landscaping..lol) that it would be smart to make sure as to where our property lines are..

Anyone have any suggestions on what we can put in place of the wooden stakes that the surveyor will put in?? I am looking to try and put something in the ground that a kid won't be able to easily pull out..

TIA

Many developers indicate property lines with wooden stakes. Most surveyors will indicate property lines with rebar (a steel rod) driven into the ground and marked with an orange ribbon (heavy duty plastic). I'm sure that's how the surveyor will mark your lines, but it is best to double-check.
