Health club(s) in/near Tega Cay?
My wife and I are seriously considering moving to Tega Cay. I grew up in Charlotte but have been away (career moves) since the mid '70's. I have always been a member of a health club near home and am wondering what their availability is in or near Tega Cay.

I saw something on Gold Hill Rd last weekend as I was driving around. I didn't apy a lot of attention as that is not my thing. Maybe someone else can name it? It was a privte gym/club thing.

I can't think of the one at Lake Wylie but it just across the bridge in the shopping center behind Wachovia. Just 5 miles from Tega Cay. I think it is Lake Wylie Sports Center. Very nice!

Hey there samalw - Not sure if you have been back to the area since leaving in the 70's...if you haven't you are going to be blown away by all of the growth around here.
In regard to health clubs and what is closest to Tega Cay (in addition to what the other posters have suggested):
For starters there's a Fitness Room located within the Tega Cay Beach and Swim Center (not huge...but it's an option)

Just outside the entrance of Tega Cay is the Gold Hill YMCA branch

We go to the Baxter Y they have an indoor/outdoor pool, gym, Yoga, Pilates, Spinning and water aerobic classes and aerobic classes and weights/nautilus equipment, racquetball and basketball courts. They also have some wonderful personal trainers. If you have any children they have childcare which is free. It has a really nice community feel and I've made a lot of good friends there. They also have some great activities where you can meet people with the same interests. I joined the triathlon training group last year and made some really good friends. It is right down the street from Tega Cay it only takes 5 minutes to get there.
