The alcohol on Sundays policy is quite a pain indeed. There have been some movements by local restaurants and bars to try to get this overturned, but as far as I know it has not yet been overturned. T-Bonz on Lake Wylie tried very hard to get enough signatures about a year ago (considering the lake is packed on sundays with drinkers and partyers), but I don't think it ever happened.

I think every single person there should of stood up at once and started cheering. Let's see the cops arrest all of them then. I would sue over this if I was one of the ones arrested. It's called freedom of speech. Apparently some people need to go read the United States Constitution.

Agreed. And actually, we did do that at the end of the ceremony. When my buddy talked to the cops they said that they were "lenient" at the end of the ceremony.... As if they could have done anything about it.

The local news reported (WSOC, I think it was) that people who attended would share video in court. It will be very interesting to see how this plays out.

It says that because that's where the news story came from. The one he read is from Columbia's paper.

Well, when I graduated from my HS a few years ago (in PA), we had an outdoor ceremony in the football stadium because our gym/school has no air conditioning. Needless to say, while my parents were videotaping my graduation, it was full of people getting up and throwing stuff around in front of the camera and blowing off airhorns which blocked out names of people. Some parents were not happy since they couldn't hear their kids name being called out.
When my fiance graduated (two years before I did, at Clover), his school required everyone to dress nice and not make any loud noises, and there were no problems at all, people were fine with the rules. His brother will be graduating from Clover next spring, so we'll probably go to that graduation (I'm sure it will be at the coliseum next year again, since the class size is larger), and I'm sure the same rules will be in effect. Still, I don't think a police presence was necessary, it seemed a bit extreme to arrest them, but I think just giving warnings would have been fine.
I'll be going to two graduations at the Coliseum next year though, my fiance's (Winthrop, stayed a year longer) and his brother (Clover HS), with me the following year (Winthrop as well!).
