We have a group of ladies that rent a house on Lake Murray (near Prosperity) twice a year. The lake is beautiful BUT... there's not much there. The biggest city is Newberry but we've never really been into town. Grocery shopping is limited to Piggly Wiggly and Wal-Mart. I personally wouldn't move there but... there are larger cities close by, probably as close as Charlotte is to Lake Wylie. And I"m sure Lake Murray covers a wide area and I"m mentioning only the area we travel to.
