Thank you! Are any of these places on or near a lake? We are specifically interested in buying land and building a home or buying a semi custom home on a lake. Thanks for all you help! I am trying to plan out as much as possible for our trip next month to that area. Rather than spending out time driving around aimlessly I am trying to research specific areas that will be worth a look!

I was just looking at a subdivision on Lake Wylie in Tega Cay. Several builders and some lake front lots. I'm not sure what they have left, I'm gonna give them a call tomorrow. Looks nice!!

It's actually called Lake Shore on lake Wylie. Just do a search for that and you'll see it.

Tega Cay, SC: is located on a peninsula off of Lake Wylie (so we are surrounded by water)....you might want to look at the citiy website.
All the other cities I've mentioned (other than Lancaster and Indian Land) are in close proximity to Lake Wylie.
Waterfront properties are available but of course they do come at a price. In Tega Cay the largest development is called Lake Shore but there's still some lots (not in Lakeshore) that are available for custom homes.
It is great you are doing all this research first...but I can't stress enough how valuable a good realtor that really knows the area would be. I've been here for a couple of years now and only recently discovered a part of Fort Mill that I never knew existed (and I do alot of exploring). If I can be of anymore help just let me know.

The first 4 areas listed are all within York County, South Carolina
The last 2 areas listed are within Lancaster, South Carolina

I have placed them in the order that I feel best answers your question (close proximity to Charlotte, schools, crime, etc.)…again this is just my own personal opinion.

Lastly…all of these areas are no longer a secret…and all have had a lot of growth of late…but....would love for you to come take a peek!
Fort Hill crime stats look good it was a 3. Lancaster was an 8! (10 is Iraq!) and Rock Hill was a 7. Clover Lake was a 5. Tega Clay was a 2.

Thanks for the information

Trader Joes?!? I'm sold. The location is not on their website. Where might it be in regards to Fort Mill?

Sorry but I think you have misread my post...there's no Trader Joe's around here. According to their website they have potential expansion plans for North Carolina (but do not indicate where...I have heard rumours though that they have looked at the Cary area?)

I noticed the Fort Mill has 47 sex offenders "registered" and Tega Cay has 1. Rock Hill has 200! Big difference!
