Wow. I am stuned and disheartened. I really wish people would speak and act responsibly. Even if you don't like a canidate spreading lies is not the way to fight it- voting is. Sadly I voted for him as well.

This has become a national story---not good publicity for FM. Hopefully, people will remember when this guy is up for re-election

people should vote for whoever they want to vote for without being told to do whatever people say, and pressuring people is not going to make it any better as well, and bmd51 that is pretty funny.

Hey, it's South Carolina, after all.
Wasn't there some Baptist preacher who was calling Obama satan (or the likes) from his pulpit in Greenville?
But this is not new. Remember "Heritage USA"; Jim and Tammy?
So, what's the shock?

Perhaps he should actually read it some, you think? At least read the part which he presumed was connected with current events. Fact checking is always good, common sense too.
In the meantime, may I suggest a Proverb for Mr. Funderburk?

I know you may laugh at his "ignorance" but this man has political aspirations and I believe he is backed by people with real power and influence. Think "pawn" - hmmmm I can think of a major corporate pawn who has amassed great power in this country. And we have a VP candidate who went from being a Mayor of a similar sized town to a state governor to possibly being a heartbeat away from the presidency.
And I am not so sure it is ignorance. He seems like an educated man. I think he was trying to perpetuate this fantasy. I really do.
