"Bless your hearts," as they say here in the South. "Praise the Lord," as they say in Utah (where I lived for 4 yrs). And as a native Chicagoan, we'd say, "Good God!" My open letter....

Now that one of the worst weeks of my life is behind me, I want to publicly thank everyone who helped keep an eye out for my puppy who returned home this week. Thanks to the Tega Cay Fire Department, the Riverview Fire Department, and to our Fort Mill neighbors on Sutton Rd., Suttonview, Alfred, Harris and 1st Streets, and even the Sutton family, who heard me calling to Lily every day between 5 am and 11 pm. Special thanks to all the merchants who put up flyers -- Quizno's, Texaco, Gate, Lowe's Foods, Taco Bell, Circle K, Dunkin' Donuts, Wags, Beef O'Brady's, Dirty Dog and Love's Plaza. To the kindness of total strangers, next door neighbors and best friends. And a very special thank you to an angel named Kevin, who, while visiting his friend on Sutton Road, patiently coaxed Lily for an hour to come to him with a potato chip, who fed and nourished her in his home in Richburg and who called me to pick her up. From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU for my miracle.

Wave to us if you see us on the trail! Oh happy day!

Thanks again for your thoughts and prayers. Miracles are all around us. But I don't think I'm ready to go back to the FM library, where it all started....
