Hello, I received my comporium telephone bill and noticed a charge on it for $12.95 and the explanation next to the charge was "VM ID Theft" (called Enhanced Billing Services, Inc.). I have no clue what this is for and plan to phone Comporium tomorrow but wanted to see if anyone else has had this charged and what it is???? It doesn't show the number called and the call was placed at Midnight! Thanks for any insight.

It sounds like your system was automatically calling in for updates. My Windows XP checks for updates, downlaods them and then tells me next time I'm on, to install them. May be something similar. But you should not be charged for that type of call. So call Comporium!

Same happened to me. The item on your bill will probably have an 800 number to call for explanation. If you call it, the company that charged you the $12.95 will claim that you authorized the charge. (They told me that I agreed to sign up for a plan to check my voice mail from my computer, or some nonsense.) I called Comporium and they removed the charge without any argument. Note, the charge did not originate from Comporium, but from an outside source. If I had the time, I would take action against the company that tried to rip me off, but I'm guessing that it would be a long and involved battle. I'm wondering how many people don't take a good look at their bill every month and end up paying these fraudulent charges...
