McConnell, SC (Rock Hill, York, Chester: rentals, houses, safe area)

Hey gang, A friend has suggested that I look for a rental home around McConnell, SC. Anybody know anything about this town or where I could look for housing?

By the way...LOVE this website!

It's McConnells with an 's' they will correct you on that one. LOL It's a real metropolis with population of 300. They do have their own zip code (29726) and post office but that's it except for a little store that sells great hot dogs and potato wedges.

You can check out the location and proximity to Rock Hill, York and Chester on google map: Google Maps It is a safe area, rural and I think you may have to contact a York SC realtor to see if they have rentals.

We have friends that live in McConnells on several hundred acres of land that has been in their family since the pilgrims landed. If you can find a rental in that area it might be handled by the owner of the property.

Google York SC realtors and check out White Rose Realty they have been around forever and would be your best bet if anyone has something for rent. The York SC newspaper is: Enquirer Herald you can check the classifieds. The reason I keep referring to York SC, McConnells kids are in the York School District.

It is a beautiful area if you are fortunate enough to find a place. What area will you be working? If you plan to work in Charlotte that is a long haul.

Thanks for the input. I will be working as an RN with a Hospice around Chester. So with family in Clover and a job in Chester, I figured Rock Hill or McConnells would be half way. BFF is a realtor, so I will have her check into the realty companies you listed. Thanks again, Carolina!!

I use to live in Mconnells, I liked it alot. Just dont go to the bars out there.

I live outside of McConnells in Sharon and it's REAL rural. I don't know what you are looking for in a rental but chances are all you will find is a trailer for rent. It's really a cool place if you like RURAL like we do but it's REALLY rural and you better understand that.

You may get lucky and find something else but mostly what would be found out there is trailers or farm houses. Stores are a bit far also, like was mentioned before a gas station and corner store is about all you will find with the occasional "private club" which means the locals don't want anyone else in there unless you are invited. The closest supermarket will be in Rock Hill or York same for any other store necessary.

One good thing about the McConnells location for you would be Hwy 321 which runs straight through downtown McConnells (the little store & PO ) ... it's convenient to your work in Chester and your family in Clover ... if your friend can find you something to rent ... but it is boonies ... but safe boonies.

You must noy get out much. Or you don't have a life. So you need to get out and explore Sharon if you like Country Music go to the Tractor Shed located in Sharon there are some of the nicest people you would ever meet !!!!!!!I'm from Lockhart area and I go most every weekend. So get out and enjoy your life! You only have 1.
