Default Clover, York, or Lake Wylie

As I already stated , my family and I are moving to So. Car. If given the chance to move to Clover, York, or Lake Wylie, which would you chose, and why?

it all depends on what you are looking for. we chose lake wylie because that little bit extra of a drive seemed to make me feel like i was out in the boonies. we moved from charlotte so i still wanted things convenient. plus, the schools. we wanted to be in the clover school district and wanted to be at crowders creek elementary. i saw your post about lake wylie west. does that mean clover?

Lake Wylie and Clover are almost the same. It's the same school district and I don't think there is a LWY address, it's all either Clover or York. There is a small section of that area that is considered York address, just like a couple of sections of what people think is York is actually Clover.

Depends, do you have school aged children or plan to have them? CLOVER HANDS DOWN! Don't get me wrong York has good schools also BUT Clover has better ones and they are just about done building a HUGE new Middle School and another HUGE Elementary school...did I say it was HUGE ?? That's an understatement.

Clover itself is a bit more rural, parts of it can be really really rural. I grew up in NJ and visit the out-laws on some rare occasions. You can PM me if you like and I can fill you in on the differences. Personally I left that state since I disliked the lifestyle so much, I spent 18 years in Florida and had to leave there since all of NY/NJ/CT/MI followed me down there eventually, FL is just the 5th Boro of NY. So the York and Clover area of SC is perfect for me but may not be perfect for you. I am closer to a place called Sharon, REALLY way out here and for me the rural hobbit lover it sometimes does get on my nerves. I just think of the lack of noise, ability to walk out my door and get a deer for the freezer, privacy on my 30 acres and lack of city crime and am glad I am out here. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise there is crime EVERYWHERE but there is much less out here. In general when you get this far out into the country everyone owns several or MORE guns, dirtbag's prey on the weak and will avoid rural homes since they know there is lead waiting to hit it's target just behind that door. Most of the crime found out in these parts are drunks, domestic disputes and domestic assaults, the occasional pot farm and when you get even further out the occasional Meth lab bust, nothing that would bother most people and that comes from a former Passaic County Deputy...me.

We have a lot of Northerners in the Fort Mill area where they have a LOT of choices to make for stores and food but read some of the posts here. They still complain all the time of not having this or that in WALKING DISTANCE. Local's don't take to kindly to that around here and I got to admit I don't either. Having a movie theater 10-20 minutes away is great. If I HAD to have walking distance stuff then I'd just move to Manhattan. Living in Clover, York or LWY you will need to drive much farther for mainstream things. Clover just had a Lowes built recently but the closest movie theater is in Rock Hill. Fort Mill has the Rock Hill Theater and a couple closer than that in Charlotte.

Yes some dogs but not EVERYONE.. I have found that a lot of the local dogs just like to lay in the MIDDLE of the road and watch the car's go by and get in everyone's way. Others just sit in the yard then you have the houses with the chained up pit bull that never is let lose, those you know are there protecting some "burried treasure".

Personally I prefer my security camera's that will even text me with photos to my phone upon movement, and other "tools of the trade". As last resort I have my mom who is always home and will talk them to death. Someday I'll have a dog but honestly vet bills and dog food are more expensive than brass and lead. I have had them before but now that my Vet/Dad is gone I am not too keen on the idea of Vet bills.

I will be getting a Very large dog that My wife and I are holding back on till the move. It will be a 200pounder. That and I am up on security ans being prior military and retired Law nforcement, I have the usual home security tools. Well maybe more than a few. I am quite partial to Lake Wylie/Clover over the rest of the surrounding areas. I have friends in Lancaster and York, but LW seems like a better choice.

We will be getting a male American Mastiff from Deepwood Acres American Mastiffs, Mastiffs for sale, Mastiff puppies for sale
AnBull mastiff gets to be 110-130lbs as a male. an American Mastiff gets to be 160-200 as a male. Nicest thing about an American Mastiff is its an English crossbread with an Anatolian shepard, so it DOES NOT drool like any other Mastiff.
I want a Zorba Mastiff, but the wife says no.

this is not a photoshop, and it is a Zorba. Zorba was the name of the largest dog in the world. Zorba was 343lbs. This is not the record weighted dog, just an avg one.
