Hi,
Tega Cay has started a program requiring everyone with an irrigation meter to have their DCVA (Double Check Valve Assembly) tested by a certified tester and results submitted by June 1.
This test is apparently not required for those who do not have a separate irrigation meter. (Even though you really should have a valve for this configuration too.) This makes the cynic in me think the city has found a new way to make money. They probably charge the certified testers / contractors a fee to be listed as certified. This would help them make up the money they are missing out on by us not paying sewer charges on the irrigation meter. Kind of like the storm water fee we were charged a few months ago.
But anyway...
Has anyone had this done yet? Or gotten an estimate? How much did it cost? I saw a sign on the side of the road for testing for $50. That sounds reasonable, but I hate all the signs cluttering up the side of the road so I usually go out of my way NOT to patronize anyone ruining the landscape.
So please let me know what the going rate for this is.
