Rock Hill - Is there ANYTHING good to say?
I'm reading so many great things about Fort Mill but terrible things about Rock Hill. For two towns that are right next to each other, how can they differ so greatly.
Yes, I am concerned about this since I have started to build in Rock Hill and I have read not one good comment about it.
Thanks... from a worry wart...

Hi. My wife and I moved from NYC to Rock Hill about 8 months ago and we only have good things to say. We really like the community we live in, our schools are good, we appreciate all the shopping in the area, and everyone has been very friendly. Rock Hill is much bigger (and more diverse) than Fort Mill so I think that explains some of the negative comments. Obviously, housing in Rock Hill is more affordable than Fort Mill.
Bottom line, I think it all comes down to which part of Rock Hill you live in. We live about a mile off of Celenese Road and there are many nice subdivisions around us. The Millwood Plantation area is also nice as the subdivisions around Millwood are the wealthiest in the city.

I agree. I think that's one of the biggest things about any town, location.

Dear worry wart - I am confused?...you keep asking this same question (changing a few words here and there) on both the SC and NC side. Numerous times I have read where folks have told you they live in Rock Hill and love it (so I don't see where it has been all bad). You are correct...Rock Hill and Fort Mill are right next to each other (on either side of the the Catawba River). The biggest reason why they difer so greatly...is due to the sheer size of Rock Hill (the largest town within York County). Fort Mill doesn't even come close. In an earlier post to you...I suggested that you contact the local police department where your new home is being built (wondering if you have gotten a chance to do that as of yet)? Yes, there are some areas within Rock Hill that could use some improvement...but there are just as many if not more great areas in Rock Hill.

thank you
Thank you for your replies...
No, I haven't had the chance to call the local police dept.
I have to work 2 jobs to make it where I'm living now.
I have time here and there at work to get on the computer to read the posts and yes I have some concerns about change.. Even though I know its for the better, I still get a little scared.
You all have eased my mind and I am greatly looking foward to move to your area. I am from the DC area and its getting really bad here in many ways (traffic, cost of living, schools, etc).
Again, thank you for your replies
