Moving from Naples, FL to Lancaster
My family is going to be moving to the Lancaster area for a new job, & I will be working near the Wal-mart at 9 & 521. I am looking for a nice safe area with subdivisions that we could rent a 4+ bedroom house. Any suggestions would be appreciative.

When we were looking for a rental before moving to the Fort Mill/Rock Hill area, I looked up rentals on realtor.com. I came across a rental managed through First Properties of the Carolinas located on South Tryon St. in Charlotte. I was impressed with their service. Contact Janet Mayer there and tell her what you are looking for. She was wonderful to deal with long distance and also while we were renting.
I am not very familiar with the area to which you are moving so I can't help you much there. I do know, however, that there are a number of fairly new housing developments off of 521 north of Lancaster but south of Rt 160. I believe they are mostly on the east side of 521.
This forum was extremely helpful to us when we were looking to move here. I hope you find it as helpful.

You could try the BelAir @ Carolina Lakes subdivision. I've seen a house with a rent sign in there. I think that model has 4 bedrooms but I could be wrong.

Thanks for your replies thus far. We will look at these options. It is starting to look like North of Lancaster is our best area to look.

What is the South area of Lancaster like? We are planning a trip there within the next few days & trying to narrow our area a little. Thanks again for everyone's input.

Baxter Village is the best family neighborhood with best resale values.
This home is currently priced 38K under appraised value because of a divorce.

If you are going to be working near the Wal-mart at 9 & 521, you might not want to go too far out of the Lancaster area. There are plenty of housing developments in Lancaster. As far as south of town, it's great. Hunters Ridge, Sedgefield, Rum Valley all have great houses and the subdivisions are great. The schools are also great. Nice and quiet.
