Default Lock your cars

I live in a house by itself off a backroad off exit 73 (Mt Holley). Walked out of my house yesterday morning and found a guy going through my vehicle. Half the time we had left the vehicles unlocked as we kinda thought we lived in the "sticks". I called the county police and two units were there within 20 minutes. They actually apoligized for not being there sooner. They were very nice and called the K-9 unit as well. I am from Md and was surprised someone even came out. They didn't catch the guy, but I was impressed with the local police. Lock your car doors and house no matter where you live.

It doesn't just happen in the country...I've had my car broken into twice - once at Manchester outside Cold Stone Creamery (smashed window for an empty computer bag), and once parked in a "nice subdivision" (left unlocked, nothing taken).

I think you meant Mt. Holly.

It's happening in Waxhaw,NC.

After several cars were "broken" into(doors left unlocked), we had a community meeting with local police to start a community watch.

This always happens in the summer. Kids are out of school with nothing to do and they need money to do anything these days.

I live in Springsteen Plantation near the Galleria. We've been here nearly 7 years with no incident, but I lock my car every night and I don't keep anything valuable in it.

Glad you haven't had any incidents, but this was not a school age kid. This was a 20-something probably drop-out loser who will bounce around jails his entire life.
