Good afternoon momof2boys, we were down in the area at the beginning of june. and we really liked fort mill, for us we would rather be down then up top of charlotte(just our feeling). My heart is saying stay with fort mill over the waxhaw area not sure why just the feeling i got. My husband is a residential carpenter, and will be traveling all over charlotte as well. He starts his job as soon as we arrive(thank the lord he got a good job offer). What ages are your two boys, i have three children my two youngest are boys and will be going with us one not so young anymore is 20 and the other is 11. Maybe we will end up in the same area and get to meet. Where are you coming from? Us? Ohio. Please share any and all info you might have got, thanks.
Thanks
Jen

Fort Mill is at the top of my list though. But we won't know until we see it. We're going there first. And we still haven't found a rental. In one way I hate to rent, with housing $ going up by the day, but I also know we need income coming in before we can buy a house. So, not sure what to do. Do you have kids? Schools in Fort Mill start the earliest, being Aug. 9. So we need that address really quick if we end up there. My husband does commercial carpenter work, so he'll be all over Charlotte area, so I think Fort Mill would be just as close as the other towns, it doesn't sound like a bad commute to me. Good luck, let me know where you end up!
You can go on "stated income" it cost about .5% but your in and re-fi in 4-6 months. That's what well probably do, we did it on this house, and our friends who moved to NC did the same also. Easy fix instead of renting. If you do the math, it is probably a wash with throwing your money away on rent VS the % increase.

Waxhaw, Fort Mill, and Davidson were all our areas were going to look at. Fort Mill sounds the best to us. Well see. Unless someone says something bad before Sept'06 thats where were staying for 6 days and we will be roaming the streets

If you are ready to make the move, you will be more than happy here. There are those people who are not ready to give up the high cost of living, overcrowded conditions, rise in crime, kick back and enjoy the scenery, for those, this is definitely not ready to be home. I am sure you will agree once you see the area and experience the hospitality. Best of Luck.
