Default Moving to Fort Mill

We're visiting Fort Mill next week without our kids. Hubbo is staying, I have to return to Phoenix. That's a huge event... no kids for the weekend. I'm looking places for dinner in Charlotte, etc, or good BBQ places. If anyone knows of a house for sale in a great, friendly neighborhood, with kids 10 & 12 ish please let me know.
Thanks!

Hey there, we too will be there to check it out, but in about 2 weeks. But we are actually coming with moving truck, dogs, and all. (I know, crazy! ). If we don't like it, I have 4 or 5 other towns that we'll check out, but Fort Mill is at the top of my list, one of the main reasons being excellent schools there. I'm bringing 2 kids, 10 and 13, so I can relate with you! Good luck, nice to get away without the kiddos! Hey, if you find 2 nice houses, let me know!

hey there BCs....do you happen to know where you will be staying at while you are here?...that will help with giving you ideas for places to eat. Also is there a certain price range (for homes) that you are looking for (new, resell?)

Hey there TornadoAlley....not sure what hotel you are staying at in Fort Mill...but since we don't have that many to choose from...it's more than likely next to Carowinds...may I suggest you do a Search on this site using Fort Mill Hotel....there will be a thread titled Hotel?, dated 6-5....

Default Baxter

You MUST visit the Village of Baxter in Fort Mill. It is off I-77 (exit S.R. 160) just before you cross over into North Carolina. It is the most amazing neighborhood! Tons for kids to do. They even have their own YMCA! You get South Carolina Taxes but are 15 min. to Charlotte! They have a very nice Main Street area with resturants and shops. Go to www.villageofbaxter.com to check it out. I am moving there in the spring!

Hey there Jackiev: here's a early welcome to you!...we are just down the road in Tega Cay, SC. Just so there is no confusion....while the YMCA is located in Baxter...it is open for all York County residents (didn't want you to think you had that great place all to yourself...and then be surprised when we outsiders come strolling in)> Good luck to you and keep us posted once your move is finally in place...I think you will like living in the area (I know we do).

Good question. They did tell us, but it was soooooooo much lower than what we pay here in Florida (for a sad excuse for a pool, which a hurricane destroyed last yr.) that I instantly forgot the figure. I believe it was less than $100 per month (we pay $130 now).

TO LOVETHECAROLINAS: As for the YMCA, I guess I should have rephrased it to say there was a YMCA located within Baxter. That is really what I meant. He he. Actually, aren't there two YMCA's located in Fort Mill? Such a wonderful place to start a family, we can't wait. Oh and thanks for the early welcome!
