I am attaching a Historic Resources Survey prepared for the City of Rock Hill and the SC Department of Archives and History. A firm in Durham NC did this report back in 2004.
It's interesting reading and gives newcomers a little background history of Rock Hill. It's a long report, 177 pages including pictures in PDF format. You can bookmark it or put it in your favorites and go back and read it as you have time. Page 14 starts with the History of Rock Hill before 1852 and then it gets into Recommendations for National Register Historic Districts in the City.
