Yes, only girls are allowed outside is an observation based on who you see outside and are never question by the staff.

I watched a shouting match between multiple staff and a parent because they told the mom her boy was not to be outside unsupervised. While the shouting match was going on, they were showing a unit to a prospective tenant.

They were targeting boys, because boys will be boys (especially tween and teenage). Parents of boys will understand that statement, the management of Bromley Village does not.

I believe they made that policy to legitimately censure certain individuals, but instead they may be facing an legal troubles. I don't know if the State Housing Board needs to be contacted or the SC Attorney General Office. The SC Bar Association says to call a lawyer.

Under South Carolina Code of Laws, Title 27, Chapter 40, Residential Landlord and Tenant Act:
SECTION 27-40-520. Rules and regulations.
(a) A landlord, from time to time, may adopt rules or regulations, however described, concerning the tenant's use and occupancy of the premises. They are enforceable against the tenant only if:
(1) their purpose is to promote the convenience, safety, or welfare of the tenants in the premises, preserve the landlord's property from abusive use, or make a fair distribution of services and facilities held out for the tenants generally;
(2) they are reasonably related to the purpose for which they are adopted;
(3) they apply to all tenants in the premises in a fair manner;

My family's time at Bromley Village Apatments has been fantastic. Our little girls LOVE the amazing pool and have had a blast having movie nights with friends in the theater. The staff has always been very responsive and helpful. One time, we had left for a late evening and were concerned we had left an iron plugged in. We called to ask them if they would be willing to go check and they were INCREDIBLY gracious and even thanked us for calling to make sure. I highly recommend this property as transitional spot for those moving from out of town or for a long term alternative.
