The building market is not good right now in the Rock Hill area which is just south of Charlotte, NC. Many builders are facing bankruptcy and making lots of cutbacks. I worked for a builder and got laid off and they went out of business shortly after. Then I worked in the office for a contractor and got laid off from them as well due to company cutbacks. We had to fight for months to get payment from the builders. I wouldn't make a move on a hope of him getting a job in that field, its getting better but still has a very long way to go before we are back to where we were about 5 years ago.

I agree. The new construction is very slow. I have a relative who works for Sherwin Williams and he has told me how slow construction is.
