Didn't see much in Rock Hill
Went to Rock Hill last week as I will be taking a job there at end of Nov. Its only 2 hours away. I took exit 77 to Anderson Rd.to take a look at the school district that I never did find. It was a very lonely road. I later took the Dave___ Rd. and did find the mall but just was not impressed. I was told it is a big city. It looks like it may be the size of Florence SC. Or did I miss something?

Well, I flew there from Massachusetts this past week end and fell in love... with the area, the closeness to Charlotte, the feel, oh, I could go on and on. 2 1/2 years can't come fast enough- the big move for me!

I moved to Rock Hill 2 years ago and its my impression that it is primarily a bedroom community for Charlotte. Not a lot going on...but that can be as good as it is bad. If you are looking for a "hot spot", lots of clubs, activities, etc..Rock Hill probably isnt for you. If you want quiet and safe, its fine here. Decent shopping is available on Dave Lyle Blvd, the local restaurants are OK but nothing special. Taxes are low and so are gas prices. It is an easy commute to Charlotte. Property prices seem pretty reasonable.
That said, I will be moving "north" to Charlotte next month...I have liked living here but think I would be better off with a little more going on.

Good info already in this post. I moved here a year ago, live off exit 73, and commute to Charlotte daily. We do most shopping on Dave Lyle or we'll drive 20 minutes to Pineville (exit 90 off I-77) for a much larger mall and shopping area.

Flight Attendant- So what would you say there is to do for a single early 40's female? It dosen't take alot for me really. Are there singles groups? Are there many professional blacks in my age range? Best churches? I'm glad to know it is a safe area. This is most important. Thanks.

Rock Hill is not a big city but is nice. The school district sits way off the road at the Anderson Rd., Mt. Gallant Rd. interesecton.
