Default Anyone know if H1N1 shot available in the area?

Does anyone know of a place in York/Lancaster area where the H1N1 flu shot is being given for a college age student? (Clinic/doctor/health dept.?) Should we try going into Charlotte?

I haven't heard of any place. I know the health department is giving them in the public schools. I'd try them and see what they tell you.

PharmD/MBA is on a distinguished road
I am the pharmacy manager at the Target in South Charlotte (Rea Rd at Stonecrest). I live over here in FM so I am only posting this here and not in the CLT forums.

Sunday November 8th (tomorrow) from 12-2 we will be giving H1N1 to the high priority patients between 14 and 24 years old, pregnant women, caregivers of children younger than 6mo, healthcare and emergency personnel, and those with medical conditions such as severe asthma, COPD, CHF, or diabetes.

This is the shot (not nasal mist) and we cannot vaccinate younger than 14 as it is a pharmacist based clinic and that is NC law.

All typical contraindications for flu vaccine do apply (egg allergy, reactions to previous flu vaccine, Guillain Barre Syndrome).

No appointment are necessary and patients will be seen first come first serve.

Registration will start promptly at noon.

Hope to see some of you out there.

Two other Targets will have clinics next weekend between 12-2

Saturday November 14th Target at Northlake (exit 18)
Sunday November 15th Target in Mathews, NC

If you're under 24, you can get H1N1 shot at the CVS/Minute Clinic at Rivergate just over the line in SW Charlotte.
