You may want to try "Hair/Razors" in the strip mall on Tom Hall Street, Hwy 160 East. My beautician is very good.

I go to Planet 21 at the fountains in Ballantyne. They have 2 locations, one there and one at the Aboretum. It's a little bit of a drive but they do an excellent job, and I am spastic about my hair, trust me. I get it highlighted and it has always turned out great. I get my hair cut by Jenn, and coloring by Mandy. My haircut is around 35-40 without tip. Highlights 75-80 without tips and it lasts me 6-8 weeks.

This may too late for you but I struggled with bad hair cuts in Florida for 10 years and was happy to find Carmen!Carmen! just 8 miles up 521 from my Bridgemill home located on John J. Delanay (sp?) in Ballantyne. It is an Aveda salon, good with thick hair. They have different pricing for different levels of experienced stylist. I even take my daughter there because for $25 she gets a great haircut not a mediocre one for $20 that we experienced at some of the "cut and run" places.

Maybe its me but either its a salon thats $$$ as all hell or just a run by the mill place thats ok for a child maybe. I havent lucked out. I belong to a mommy site and theres a girl on there that does hair out of her house now that shes a SAHM...and all the girls shes done it looks awesome..so I think thats who I will try next! In FM so far I have hone to KoHa salon (Aveeda) and it came out nice but def more $$ then I wanted to spend. I guess I was spoiled by having my girl back in NY do my cut, highlights and blow out for 115$...when I went tok KoHa it was about 200$ for that...

I highly recommend Koha Salon in Fort Mill. I've been going there for a couple of years and see Sheri she is awesome! I'm not sure if the pp had full or partial highlights but I usually get cut, style, partial highlights for $120. I also get my eyebrows waxed by Nicole who also does facials. I usually pay $15 for an eyebrow wax. She does a great job too. It is right at 160 & Gold Hill in the Lowes Foods shopping center.

Tanya at Belle Vive in Fort Mill is excellent! Haircut is $65, highlights about $85.

I just went to a salon that just opened in the South Mall, JonRic. It was a little pricy, but I loved the color and cut. The color was very natural and the cut is easy to take care of. I worked and lived in New York and they come close to what I am used to. They also have nail and skin care. The facial was great. Give it a try!

Posh Pineapple
Somewhere on this thread I read a post on Posh Pineapple. Well I had to take my 13 year old daughter for a haircut today and saw a coupon on the Clipper flyer, so I said, what the heck, lemme try. $38 for a cut is definitely a good price, a step up from what would have been $20 at the JC Penney salon in Rock Hill. I have to say, I am sold by the service and excellent cut DD got, so on Wednesday, I am trying her out. If everything goes well, I guess Dolce Lusso is losing my business, not because they're not good, but because I can get just as good of a cut for a lot less $$$. Tiffany did her hair and it was awesome! Plus, she was right...none of the attitude of high-end salons...just downright wholesome southern hospitality. I'll post another review once I get my hair done!

I went to one of the Aveda institute in CLT with July's "Red" in my purse the one with Elizabeth Hurley on the cover and told the girl I wanted to look just like her... she said, _well you have the eyes and blah blah blah...
To be honest with you I'm not going back because I looked in the mirror and she didn't make me look like her at all!!!!!
It was cheap though .

An Aveda salon in Charlotte would be worth the drive. Also Toni & Guy (I think there is one at Carolina Place Mall). They always give good cuts. If your hair is curly, like my daughter's, Blis in Pineville is the best (ask for Ashley)!
