HELP-Good hair salon near Ft Mill?
Hey! Well we are settling in to our new home in Ft Mill and are really enjoying Ft Mill. Only problem is now I need a haircut and have no idea where to go. I would like a salon the is current on new styles and trends but is not too pricey.
Thanks!

Oh...I know at least 3 of us (myself included) on this site alone...that are waiting on an answer to this question.

You're kidding, right? Surely someone on this board knows of at least one good salon! Anyone?

Any city I go to, I use an Aveda salon (look for locations on their web site). It's not totally outrageous and I have NEVER had a bad haircut from one (used them in Atlanta, Pittsburgh, Columbia MO and went across the line to Toledo). Now to find a new one down here near Wilmington.
We've tried others but always go back to Aveda. Liz

I think I passed an Aveda salon in either Blakney or Ballantyne, I'm headed that way tomorrow and I will check it out. One place I recently tried is Blis salon, in the old downtown of Pineville. I thought it looked nice from the outside, so I gave it a try. It was a total rip-off! They supposedly specialize in curly hair, so I got a particular cut they reccommend for curly, plus a deep conditioner. It was $150 for the cut and conditioner. The cut is no different from anything else I've gotten and paid $45. for. I was shocked at the price, and very disappointed. I'll never go back. An eyebrow wax was $25. which I also thought was ridiculous. I used to pay $13. for an eyebrow wax up north.

Hair Salons
I'm a SC girl who is living in DC. I plan my trips home around my "hair needs." I've been to upscale salons in the DC area where a cut and color is 250-300 or more. That said, since I was 16 I've been to Leslie at Hair Scapes in Lancaster. It's a very small town type salon but don't let that scare you! She really knows her stuff I promise! It's about a 25 minute drive from Fort Mill. I work at a private school in DC and I've been given lots of compliments on my new cut, color, and highlights ($100 with tip!!!) from moms who think you can't get a decent haircut in DC and only use hair salons in Manhattan. I'm happy that my husband and 2 children are moving to Fort Mill this summer so that I can visit Leslie more often!

Aveda products ruined my hair, dried it out horribly, I won't go to a salon that carries that product.
But alas, I'm too going to be moving to SC, but most likely the Rock Hill area.
Currently I have a good hair dresser here in NC, but it will be 50 miles one way for me to continue to go to her, and I just can't justify 100 mile round trip to get my hair cut and colored. Which to touch up my roots and trim my hair is costing me 100.00 every 4 weeks. Ridiculous!
I think I'll try to find a shop to just do the cut, and color my own hair here on out.

I TOTALLY agree with this statement. Worth the drive to Charlotte and is not too far.

They were looking for one in Ft. Mill. Wilmington would be a drive.
