Rock Hill SC entertainment?
Any suggestions for the over 40 crowd for things to do in Rock Hill, besides church functions?
Any area nightclubs with good music on the weekends?
Speciality shopping? (foods, furniture, clothing)
What would you say to a person moving to Rock Hill by themselves, who knows zip nada other people, that the new person, should put on their list as a "must do?"
Thanks

Well, as a Rock Hill resident in his 20's, I typically go to Charlotte for the vast majority of my social functions, although I'm sure there are things in Rock Hill itself for the more mature crowd.

Thanks, but I'm doing everything in my power not to be anywhere near Charlotte, big cities do not fascinate me. I'm leaving Concord NC, for Rock Hill to be closer to work. I'm burnt out driving thru Charlotte..big time. I was just wondering about some little local type places in Rock Hill.
If you think of any, let me know
THanks again

You'll want to check out Baxter in Ft Mill. There are several pub type establishments, restaurants, some shops, the library, the YMCA, etc. There are also several restaurants going in over at 160 and 49. Not sure of bars, dancing or that sort of thing.

Happy Valentine's Day, Mrs P! First must do (if you can ): Join us at the meet-up tomorrow night in Baxter. Info appears in a sticky at the top of the Y & L forum. Second must-do IMO... We're much alike in being drawn to the small town vibe. Upon arrival we started spending time in downtown RH and going to fests on Main Street. Best thing we could have ever done for ourselves. The hospitality shown to us by local residents, business owners, staff, mgmnt worked very stongly to enhance our sense of belonging. The same holds true for the region, not just Downtown RH.
We LOVED Thursday nights in the summer on Main Street. Street party, live bands, dancing. Great crowd. Sociable. Well-attended. I'm assuming they will be holding this series again this summer. I was bummed I had to miss the Blues fest in October. I LOVED Christmasville. McHale's in downtown RH is very popular. Lovemygirls, I furnished what (little) I know about Longbranch in your thread inquiring re night clubs. Quality music (regional and national acts) can be found at the Sylvia Theater over in York, just a short country drive away.
Shops... I LOVE stopping into Overhead Station in downtown RH. The owner, Mrs. Betsy Rock, is absolutely charming. Also downtown... Antique mall. Galleries/studios at RH Art Council site and in the old People's Bank building (I believe that's the place). Too numerous to list all places. Also, some new specialty shops are popping up on Herlong.
Hope this helps. Do come hang out tomorrow night at the Six Pence in Baxter if you can!!
