Expat needs help part I - Housing (Rock Hill, Fort Mill: apartments, rentals)

Hi there folks, I will be relocated in July to work in Fort Mill and I would love to have some info about the area. I am married with a 4 year old and it will be a challenge to live in the US. Actually back in 1997 to 1999 I was a college student in St. Louis but I came back to Brazil as soon as I finished college. Now it is a totally new ball game.

First question that I have is about housing. My wife is not very fond of apartments and I don’t want a regular house so I guess the best option would be a town house.

What complex would you guys suggest me around the fort mill area?

I checked some online and my favorite so far is Galleria Pointe. I am willing to spend 750 – 850 on a three bedroom. Is that enough (I sure hope so)?

If you are looking for apartment, I would not recommend Galleria Pointe - old and expensive. In terms of townhomes, I am not sure if you could have as many options as apartments.

Check out availability of "townhomes" in Olde Pointe, Rock Hill. They are condo/patio homes, newer, but individually owned. Some are professionally managed. They would be convenient to Fort Mill, as they are on the northwestern side of Rock Hill. Go to Craigslist.com, apt/homes for rent and type in "Rock Hill." under the seach criteria.
