Description: The Westin opened in March 2011 just a couple of blocks from the Sheraton, Hyatt, and Wyndham. Like its competitors, it is located within walking distance to the light rail stations, the Phoenix Convention Center, downtown sports venues, and scores of central places to hang out. Planners designed the 242-room hotel, located in the 26-floor Freeport McMoRan Center, as a sophisticated urban retreat. Each of the guestrooms and the central ballroom features giant windows to maximize views of the surrounding city. The design includes sleek, modern furniture and natural woods in addition to calming neutral colors. Rooms include brand-new bathrooms, innovative Heavenly Beds, and “jack packs” to connect laptops or other personal devices into the 40-inch flat-screen TVs. The Westin also offers a fitness center and a pool with cascading waterfall.
