Description: Barnacle Bed & Breakfast resides on a serene stretch of beach that extends out into the Atlantic. Constructed as 3 rotated, star-shaped levels, the Barnacle houses a foliage-filled atrium that serves as the location for the complimentary breakfast buffet. Comfortably furnished with ceiling fans, a sofa, television, table, and chairs, the atrium also serves as a common room. Guests enjoy use of kayaks, bicycles, snorkeling gear, and barbecue grills. Children younger than age 16 are not permitted. Finding Long Beach Road is a little tricky: Turn left at Big Pine Fishing Lodge, mile marker 33, oceanside, and proceed about 2 miles.

Description: This scuba and marine science camp for children ages 12 through 17 has been in Big Pine Key since 1966. Children from across the world sign up for Seacamp’s 18-day program to experience scuba diving, sailing, snorkeling, and sailboarding. Marine science classes teach about such subjects as exploring the seas, animal behavior, and Keys critters. Scuba certification is available.
