Description: You don’t see or hear about streetcars these days, so it’s interesting to visit the collection of them just awaiting their rebirth. This museum was founded in 1966 and traces the 104-year history, starting with the first horsecars in East Baltimore in 1859 through to the end of the streetcar era in 1963. Feel what it was like to ride a streetcar during a 1.5-mile round-trip ride aboard one of the restored streetcars. The museum offers operating layouts, displays, and a video on local streetcar history. It’s open from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday year-round and Saturday and Sunday from June to October. Admission is $7 for adults and $5 for children age 4 through 11 and senior citizens, with a family maximum of $24. Admission includes unlimited rides on original Baltimore streetcars, access to the displays, and an audiovisual presentation of the streetcar history.
