Description: The Blue Eye School District, home of the Bulldogs, takes in 98 square miles in southeastern Stone County on the Missouri-Arkansas border. It has an enrollment of more than 700. It consists of three schools: an elementary school, middle school, and high school. The elementary school has 235 students (grades kindergarten through five) and 23 certified teachers, including specialists in special education, art, music, library, and remedial reading. The middle school has 192 students (grades six through eight) and 27 certified teachers. The high school has 276 students (grades 9 through 12) and 20 certified teachers. The school is fully accredited by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. The assessed valuation of the district is $84 million. The school, like many in the area, has had growth due to the Branson boom, mostly confined to the elementary level, but not as much as Branson and Hollister. Growth is steady and is expected to continue.
