Description: It’s for good reason that any list of Santa Fe’s top-10 restaurants includes this Canyon Road eatery, which has received the Mobil Four-Star rating. Housed in a landmark adobe with a long portal for outside dining, Geronimo carries on a fine tradition of good restaurants in this lovely site. Inside you’ll find three fireplaces, gleaming, brass-plated tabletops, 24-inch-thick adobe walls, and huge beams high overhead. In mid-2009, Geronimo’s renowned former executive chef Eric DiStefano, new chef-owner of Coyote Cafe, took over ownership of Geronimo and was busy developing a new Asian- and French-themed menu at press time. One popular dish locals hope will return is elk tenderloin, ranch-raised in Texas, and fish dishes such as potato-crusted sea scallops with tatsoi salad and caviar sauce. You can sit on the patio in the summer or request a table near the lovely fireplace in the winter. Currently only open for dinner (closed Sunday). Full bar.
