Description: The Herb and Plant Festival stretches several blocks down Main Street and spills over onto several side streets. One of Oklahoma’s largest herb festivals, this one showcases over 150 booths with vendors showing herbs, fruits, vegetables, succulents, perennials and annuals, bushes, shrubs—even trees. And there are spots selling home decor, garden accessories, and garden necessities.Festivities start early with the annual Kiwanis Club pancake breakfast. Food booths assure you won’t go hungry, and you can enjoy entertainment and activities for children. Approximately 15,000 folks show up for this event, and the whole town pitches in to make it fun. The Jenks Garden Club sponsors the festival and provides most of the man- (or woman-) power, but local police, firefighters, city employees, and the high school ROTC and Future Farmers of America do yeoman duty. This is small-town America at its best.
