Description: The Tulsa 66ers professional basketball club, named after the famous highway running through downtown Tulsa, is owned and operated by, and directly affiliated with, their NBA parent club, the Oklahoma City Thunder. Players Shaun Livingston, D. J. White, and Kyle Weaver have all been Tulsa favorites before being called up to the Thunder.The 66ers are members of the NBA Development League, founded in 2001. The annual D-League Draft, held in November, allows the 66ers to select the top prospects from a pool of college, former NBA, and top international players. Almost 20 percent of the end-of-season (2009) rosters of NBA teams were former NBA Development League players.Since the 2005–2006 season, the 66ers have provided an affordable, family-friendly experience to hundreds of thousands of fans from Tulsa and the surrounding region. Tickets have ranged from $10 to $90 depending on seat location. The 66ers play downtown at the Tulsa Convention Center.
