The media scene on the Oregon Coast reflects the rich history of the area, has a commitment to providing news coverage that informs residents of local issues, and celebrates the individuality of the people that live in coastal communities. The majority of these communities have a weekly or biweekly paper that has kept residents well informed for more than half a century. Two daily papers, the Daily Astorian and the World, provide local as well as international news. A large majority of the newspapers also have Web sites that provide easy access for those who like to read about local news and events online. In the Television section, we’ve provided you with a listing of the local TV channels available, and there are a rich variety of radio stations that play a broad range of music with Adult Contemporary and Country-Western dominating the radio airwaves.
