Telephone: (503) 233-3656
Address: 3584 Southeast Division

Description: Eugenio’s is a tiny, tiny Italian-style deli that serves some of the best espresso in town, as well as absolutely delicious sausage sandwiches (using the best Italian sausage anywhere, from local purveyor Fred Carlo) and thin-crust pizza. The sandwiches and salads are fresh, with novel combinations of high-quality ingredients—for example, the Draper Valley chicken that’s used for the chicken salad. It also offers microbrews on tap and has a small but intelligently selected wine list. There are just a few seats, and sometimes half the space is taken up by musicians singing the praises of Eugenio, but if you are patient you will be justly rewarded with a fine, simple lunch or dinner.

On the retail side, you can take home savory Italian, French, and Spanish-style salamis and other cured meats, as well as fresh sausages and pates. On the restaurant side, you may want to tarry over beautiful charcuterie, wine, and cheese, as well as sumptuous meat dishes or daily fish specials. The wine list is expansive, and there is also a well-edited hard alcohol selection.
