Description: On the second weekend in December each year, some 20,000 runners hit the streets of Dallas for an event that’s been named the state’s top marathon and half-marathon by Competitor Texas magazine. The route includes a 10-mile loop around scenic White Rock Lake and attracts some 150,000 spectators who cheer the runners on. This one is a qualifier for the Boston Marathon, and the race benefits the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children in Dallas.
